South Texas Singer Scores Radio Hits, Awards Nomination

“Steven James &  the Jaded certainly have a unique sound.  Their combination of alternative rock and coastal country, sound unlike anything else currently in the Texas scene.”  - Texas Music Pickers, Music Blog

Three years of hard work will culminate this fall, when South Texas rockers, Steven James & The Jaded attend the Texas Music Awards where they are nominated for "Country Single of the Year."

It seems to have validate everything James has been working toward since going solo in the summer of 2014 after spending nearly a decade playing around Texas in rock n' roll and country bands.

Steven James & The Jaded caught the ears of the Texas Country Scene in 2016 after their upbeat, debut single "Weak In The Knees" broke the Top 40 on the Texas Radio charts.

Based on the Gulf Coast, the group's catchy brand of "Coastal Country" was a breath of fresh air to Texas Music fans.

Now they're riding a wave of success with their second studio album “On The Run” and the release of "Texas Girls,” which spent over 23 weeks on the Texas Top 75 Radio Chart and was named a Top 200 Texas song of 2016. That single was followed by their latest song "Dance With Me Tonight" which again broke the Texas Top 40 and has been nominated for "Country Single of the Year."

But regardless of the chart success and nods from their peers, Steven James & The Jaded say they owe it to Country Music fans around the world for embracing their authentic South Texas sound.

"We wouldn't be where we are today if it weren't for the amazing support from the Texas Country community,” Steven James said. "The past two years have been a whirlwind for us."

Produced by Grammy-Nominated Producer, Dylan Ely, at The Loop Studios in the band's hometown of Corpus Christi, the band's latest album "On The Run" serves up the hooky, melodic Texas rock Steven James & The Jaded have become known for, with a polished finish.

"With this album we really set out to prove that our success wasn't just a one-time thing," Steven James said. "We've learned a lot, and grown a lot over the past two years and we're ready to run with the best."

After releasing their debut album “Baby L.A.” in 2015 which saw the group's debut single reach #37 in the state, Steven James & The Jaded spent most of the year touring Texas, playing shows with Texas Country superstars including, Robert Earl Keen, Josh Abbott BandCharlie Robison, Rich O’ Toole, Larry Joe Taylor, Bri Bagwell and more.

The hectic tour schedule quickly earned them a reputation as a solid, fun Texas band that brought a good time to whatever venue they would call home that night.

For the band’s debut album, “Baby L.A.” the young Texas Country singer, who draws comparisons to Caleb Followill of Kings of Leon or a young John Mellencamp, teamed with acclaimed Producer Lars Goransson, in Austin, who has produced international records from groups including The Cardigans; and Austin music mainstays What Made Milwaukee FamousAlpha Rev and Fastball.

This fall, the band will once again hit the studio to get started on their third album, with many of the songs already being tested on the road. Expect a new radio single in the fall of 2017, and a spring album release the following year.

After grabbing the attention of Texas Music fans and fellow musicians, Steven James suddenly finds the band in a pivotal place, ready to show the Texas Country community that they aren't just a flash in the pan.

“I hope these new songs take this band to the next level and prove that we are here to stay,” Steven James added.

“The sound is a little John Mellencamp meets Cross Canadian Ragweed at a Padre Island beach house party, with a dash of Bob Seger thrown in for good measure.”
